Abdellatif and Marouane Fellaini scored at UnitedHumans
and won the Award 2015 for mutual respect
The prize was awarded in appreciation for the perseverance and work ethic which Abdellatif, former goalkeeper, has passed on to Marouane in the development of his career, today at Manchester United, as number 27, and as an appreciated member of the Belgian Red Devils Team.
Important in the choice of the laureates is their social commitment, outside the spotlight, where personal involvement, sustainability and an attitude of progress stimulating thinking are included as basic ingredients.
More than 120 students from five schools coming from all over Belgium are currently preparing the celebration of Abdellatif and Marouane which will take place later on in this school year. The celebration will become a special moment with mutual respect asUnited Humans Award - Marouane Fellaini et his father Abdellatif Fellaini theme.
The UnitedHumans Award has been awarded in 2014 to Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Damien Jalet, two choreographers who are basing their creations, among others, on the many identities we all are made up and which are often the cause of the (in) ability to better understand each other.
UnitedHumans promotes mutual respect as a lever to really try to understand each other. It’s an inter-action, a matter of showing sincere mutual interest in order to bring about inclusiveness. Our view of reality is often a matter of perspective, focus and context. In addition to the top-down approach of the United Nations there is a need for the bottom-up power of UnitedHumans. Anyone can participate and many individual efforts can result into a collective progress creating a better world. All this is reflected in the UnitedHumans baseline : YOU make the difference.
